It’s time, it’s time to spread positivity, it’s time to change how you feel, it’s time to bring balance to life!

Let’s talk about endorphins and mental health. Have you ever woken up feeling de-motivated? Not wanting to hop out of bed? Not excited for life?

Did you know, 1 in 5 women experience depression in their lifetime and 1 in 3 suffer from anxiety at some point. These results may be hidden due to human nature, we tend to try and hide these feelings in fear of being ‘judged’. Remember these figures when you are out and about next, take note that even the women that look like that have it all figured out may be suffering inside. This is why we need to share more love and positivity.

Let’s talk endorphins, they are chemicals called neurotransmitters which work to transmit electrical signals within the nervous system. They are primarily made in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland and have been found to promote a feeling of euphoria. The production of endorphins can reduce feelings of depression and anxiety whilst increasing feelings of energy and wellbeing. Exercise causes a release of endorphins; the amount of endorphin release varies between individuals however this concept is highly beneficial to mental health and recovery. Now this doesn’t mean you need to go out and smash hardcore workouts daily, I recommend trialling different work outs and gyms to find one that makes you feel good. At the end of the day, it’s all about having fun and feeling joyous.

I want to leave you today with this… make the decision that you’re going to spend a total of one hour a day, say, six days a week, doing those things that nourish your body and spirit. That means a total of 6 hours out of the 168 in any given week. You can spend that time doing whatever you want to do, as long as its geared toward the body, mind, spirit connection. The only rule is that you have to spend the time away from your typical daily routine.
